Put G-Work on your home screen
G-Work is not in an app store, but you can add it to your phone so it works like one: an icon on your home screen, no browser bar, no typing the address every time. It takes about ten seconds and does not cost anything or download anything separate. This is the same website you already use, just saved to open full screen.
iPhone (Safari)
This only works in Safari. If you normally use Chrome or another browser on your iPhone, open gworktools.com in Safari first, the plain blue compass icon.
- 1
Tap the Share button
It is the square icon with an arrow pointing up. On most iPhones it sits at the bottom of the screen, in the middle of the row of icons.
- 2
Find "Add to Home Screen"
A list of options slides up. Scroll down through the list until you see Add to Home Screen and tap it.
- 3
Tap Add
Your phone shows a preview with the G-Work icon and name. Tap Add in the top right corner.
- 4
Done
A G-Work icon now sits on your home screen next to your other apps. Tap it any time you want to open G-Work. No browser bar, no typing the address.
Android (Chrome)
- 1
Open the three-dot menu
With G-Work open in Chrome, tap the three dots stacked in the top right corner of the screen.
- 2
Tap Install app
Look for Install app in the menu that drops down. On some phones, especially older ones, it says Add to Home screen instead. Either one does the same thing, so tap whichever one you see.
- 3
Confirm
A small box pops up asking you to confirm. Tap Install (or Add if that is the word your phone shows).
- 4
Done
The G-Work icon is now on your home screen and in your app drawer with your other apps. Tap it any time you want to open G-Work.
What this does not do
Installing G-Work does not make it work without internet. You still need Wi-Fi or cell data to open it, the same as before. What changes is how it opens: full screen, with its own icon, without a browser bar or address to type.
